Kendall played college football for Oklahoma (2016-2018) and West Virginia (2019-2020) before transferring to Louisiana Tech for his final season in 2021. He was a two-year starter at West Virginia, leading the Mountaineers to a 7-6 record in 2019. In his senior season at Louisiana Tech, Kendall threw for 2,153 yards and 14 touchdowns, but the Bulldogs finished with a 3-9 record.
