This program spotlighted the inspiring journeys of individuals in Northeast Ohio who triumphed over challenges to achieve success, aiming to motivate others to follow suit. In 2018, Wiggins received notable recognition for her contributions, including a regional Emmy Award and a Salute to Excellence Award from the National Association of Black Journalists, specifically for an episode of “Rising” highlighting a teenager with cerebral palsy who pursued his passion for organized basketball.
Her journalistic prowess extends beyond television, evidenced by her receipt of a 2022 Gracie Award from the Alliance for Women In Media for her report on two ministry leaders in Northeast Ohio, from different racial backgrounds, who collaborated on reconciliation efforts following the tragic killing of George Floyd.
