John Travolta mistakes drag queen Jade Jolie for Taylor Swift at VMAs
John Travolta was behind one of the most memorable moments at this year’s VMAs when he mistook RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jolie for Taylor Swift. Moreover, the actor was presenting the Video of the Year award, which went to Swift’s song “You Need to Calm Down”.
However, in an apparent case of mistaken identity, he tried to hand the Moon Man trophy to Jolie, who looked confused but shook off the moment and hugged the actor. Furthermore, fans pointed out that Jolie is known for her uncanny impression of the 29-year-old and was wearing a very similar hairstyle to Swift’s on the night.
Jade first rose to national attention on Drag Race in 2013, finishing season 5 in eighth place after being eliminated on episode 6.
