Behr began his television career with a role in the ABC series Push, but unfortunately, the show was short-lived and got canceled after a few episodes. He then secured a recurring role as Chris Wolfe in The WB’s Dawson’s Creek. While filming in North Carolina, Behr discovered the script for Roswell High (later shortened to Roswell) and felt a connection to the lead character, Max Evans. The show had a decent run on The WB for two seasons before moving to UPN for its third and final season.
After Roswell, Behr diversified his career by taking on various film roles, including Unsub Lee’s Happily, Even After; Jeffery Levy’s Man of God, and Rebecca Cook’s Shooting Livien. In 2001, he played Dennis Buggit in Lasse Hallstrom’s The Shipping News, alongside Kevin Spacey, Judi Dench, Julianne Moore, and Cate Blanchett. Behr also made guest appearances in Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1998. And later reunited with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the Japanese/American film The Grudge.
