MC Chagla, initially associated with the Muslim League, distanced himself from the organization when its leader, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, advocated for a separate Muslim state.

In January 2017, she and Mistry celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary in the Swiss Alps alongside close friends and relatives. The Mistry family has ties to the Tatas through Cyrus’s sister, Aloo, who is married to Noel Tata, Ratan Tata’s half-brother.
