Spencer Christian is an American television broadcaster. He is well known as the former weather forecaster for ABC’s Good Morning America from 1986 to 1998. Spencer is now the weather forecaster for KGO-TV which is owned by ABC in San Francisco. He has also authored several children’s books.

Christian embarked on his broadcasting journey at WWBT in Richmond, Virginia, serving as a news reporter. His coverage spanned topics such as the public school system, state and local politics, and landmark cases in the Fourth US Circuit Court of Appeals.
In 1975, Spencer took on his inaugural role as a weatherman in Baltimore, Maryland, joining WBAL-TV’s Action News team under the direction of Ron Kershaw. This team included notable figures like Sue Simmons, Mike Hambrick, Ron Smith, Curt Anderson, and Joe Krebs.
During his time in Baltimore, Spencer swiftly garnered a substantial following, thanks to his quick wit. He actively participated in various community and charitable events, making appearances at elementary schools, shopping centers, and little leagues.
Between 1992 and 1993, he hosted the music game show Triple Threat on the Black Entertainment Television cable network. In 1998, Spencer bid farewell to Good Morning America, transitioning to a weather forecasting role at KGO-TV in San Francisco, California, starting in January 1999—a position he continues to hold.
From 1995 to 1999, he hosted HGTV’s Spencer Christian’s Wine Cellar and simultaneously led the PBS train series Tracks Ahead since 1997. In 2006, Spencer commenced hosting the popular afternoon show, The View from the Bay, in San Francisco.
Notably, in June 2014, he briefly returned to Good Morning America as a substitute weather forecaster during Ginger Zee’s wedding. On November 19, 2015, Spencer celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Good Morning America. He is a proud member of the Beta chapter of the Iota Phi Theta fraternity.
