In June 2008, Tyga experienced a robbery where his jewelry was taken by unidentified individuals. Later, some of his stolen diamond chains surfaced in an online video posted by local rapper 40 Glocc. Tyga eventually acknowledged the robbery but stated that 40 Glocc was not involved, suggesting that individuals associated with 40 Glocc may have been responsible for robbing the perpetrators who targeted him.
Tyga Legal issues
In late 2012, he faced lawsuits from two women featured in his “Make It Nasty” music video, each seeking $10 million in damages. They alleged that Tyga showcased their nipples without their consent, despite assurances that such content would be edited out before release. However, he went ahead and released an unedited version of the video. Another woman from the same video filed a lawsuit against him on September 21, 2013, accusing him of sexual battery, fraud, invasion of privacy, and emotional distress.
She, too, claimed she was persuaded to dance topless with the assurance that her breasts would be edited out. In a separate legal issue, Tyga was sued on September 4, 2013, by a Beverly Hills jeweler, Jason Arasheben, for allegedly failing to pay approximately $91,000 for jewelry. Additionally, in October 2021, Tyga was arrested on charges related to domestic abuse.
Tyga Career
On September 7, 2016, Kanye West, who was in a relationship with a Kardashian at the time like Tyga, announced that Tyga had signed with his GOOD Music imprint, under Def Jam Recordings. On July 17, 2017, it was revealed that Tyga would be a regular cast member in the third season of the VH1 slasher TV series Scream, playing the character Jamal Elliot. The season premiered on July 8, 2019.
On July 21, 2017, Tyga released his fifth studio album, titled BitchImTheShit2, which was a follow-up to his 2011 mixtape #BitchImTheShit. On May 16, 2018, he dropped the single “Taste,” featuring Offset from Migos. The track was a major success, reaching number 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and achieving 9× platinum certification from the RIAA. “Taste” is credited with rejuvenating Tyga’s career after a period of stagnation.
Building on the momentum from “Taste,” he released several other successful singles in 2018, including “Swish” (certified gold) and “Dip” featuring Nicki Minaj (certified platinum). In July 2020, he ventured into the food business by partnering with entrepreneur Robert Earl to launch Tyga Bites, a virtual kitchen brand specializing in delivery-only items like boneless chicken wings. Additionally, in 2021, Tyga appeared as “Dalmatian” on the sixth season of The Masked Singer, but was the first contestant from Group B to be eliminated.
Tyga Hotel California
Tyga released his third studio album, “Hotel California,” on April 9, 2013. Preceding the album, the first single, “Dope,” featuring rapper Rick Ross, was released on December 25. Before this, he dropped a nine-track mixtape titled “187.” Moreover, in episode three of his tour vlog, he confirmed several features for the album, including Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, and Wiz Khalifa.
Despite facing opposition from critics who objected to his “violently misogynistic lyrics,” Tyga performed at Harvard University’s Yardfest in the Spring of 2013. During this time, he also collaborated with singer Sabi on her track “Cali Love.”
“Hotel California” boasted a lineup of guest appearances from artists such as Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Game, Wiz Khalifa, Future, and Jadakiss. The album featured production by various producers, including Cool & Dre, D. A. Doman, DJ Mustard, Detail, Mars of 1500 Nothin’, The Olympics, and SAP. It spawned three official singles: “Dope” featuring Rick Ross, “For the Road” featuring Chris Brown, and “Show You” featuring Future, along with the promotional single “Molly.” Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, “Hotel California” debuted at number seven on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 54,000 copies in its first week, making it less commercially successful than Tyga’s debut album.

Tyga and Bella Poarch
There were rumors that rapper he and TikTok star Bella Poarch were dating after they appeared in a few TikTok videos together in September 2021. The videos showed them dancing to Tyga’s songs and hanging out at what looked like Tyga’s house. Shortly after, rumors spread about a sex tape between the two.
However, Bella denied the rumors during a TikTok challenge in which she had to reveal “two truths and a lie.” She said that making a sex tape with him was a lie. He never addressed the rumors himself.
