Etabari was raised by his mother, Jean Ferro, a Hollywood Photo/Artist, in an artist community. His initial exposure to acting occurred during seventh grade through the Francis Ford Coppola Magnet school program at Bankcroft Jr. High School.
During his time at Santa Monica High School, Etabari thrived in sports, participating in football, baseball, and basketball. He later earned a volleyball scholarship to San Diego State University.
While at San Diego State, he received recognition from the San Diego Fire Department for his bravery in rescuing two women from a burning apartment, earning him the Commendation of Honor.
